La Posada es un servicio navideño transfronterizo que celebra la amistad binacional, promueve la justicia, y honra las vidas que se han perdido, esperando el nacimiento de Cristo.

Este evento está organizado por Border Church con el apoyo de los Ministerios Hispanos/Latinos de la Conferencia California-Pacifico, ofreciendo una oportunidad de estar cerca de la pared fronteriza y tener al aire libre un tiempo de adoración.

Tema: “En los migrantes vemos nuestra humanidad.”

Horario:

• 1:30 pm – Orientation to La Posada Sin Fronteras: Learn about the past, present and future of Friendship Park, and about how to get the most out of the wonderful tradition that is the Posada Sin Fronteras.
• 2:30 pm – Main Program: Led simultaneously by faith leaders on both sides of the border, we sing and pray together, lift up the names of those who have lost their lives attempting to cross the border, and hear from our brothers and sisters.
• 4 pm – Conclusion of la Posada Sin Fronteras 2019 / Hike back to cars

Ubicacion:

• En San Diego: Border Field State Park & Friendship Park at border wall ($5 dolares por vehículo.)
• En Tijuana: El evento es en el Muro Fronterizo junto al faro de Playas de Tijuana

Si la carretera es inaccesible por inundación, prepárese con caminar 45 minutos para llegar al parque. ¡OJO! Aunque no lo esperamos, todos estarán sujetos a inspección por agentes fronterizos. Traigan con uds. identificación y asegúrense que sus vehículos estén registrados.

La Historia de La Posada:
¡Bienvenidas y bienvenidos! Las grandes religiones del mundo celebran la hospitalidad al extranjero como una expresión de la verdadera fe. En La Posada recordamos el relato de la Biblia, en que José y María, extranjeros en Belén, buscaron refugio la noche en que Jesús nació. Esta tradición se celebra a través de las Américas. Dentro de un contexto hostile al migrante, es posible promover una cultura de reconciliación y solidaridad. Unete a la 24a celebración de La Posada Sin Fronteras en celebracion de nuestra hermandad como una sola familia humana. ¡Todos son bienvenidas y bienvenidos!

La Posada is a cross-border Christmas service celebrating binational friendship, promoting justice, & honoring lives lost as we anticipate the birth of Christ.

This event is organized by Border Church with support from Cal-Pac Conference Hispanic/Latino Ministries and serves a unique opportunity to be close to the physical wall at the border and have a worship time outdoors.

Theme: “In migrants we see our own humanity.”

Schedule:

If the road leading to Friendship Park is impassible, your should prepare to walk 45 minutes into the park area. Everyone is subject to Border Patrol inspection, bring proper identification documents, and ensure your vehicle is properly registered.

The Story of The Posada Tradition:
Welcome! All the world’s great religions recognize hospitality for the stranger as a sign of mature faith. La Posada is a re-enactment of the Bible story of Mary and Joseph who, while sojourners in Bethlehem, were forced to seek shelter on the night of Jesus’ birth. It is a venerated Christmas tradition across the Americas. In our time, with such a hostile climate towards migrants, we believe it’s possible to promote a culture of reconciliation and solidarity. At the 24th annual La Posada Without Borders, we join with our friends from Tijuana as brothers and sisters in one human family. All are welcome.
