About the Class:

• Attendance is required at both sessions (2/8/2020 & 2/15/2020) for credit. All those seeking certification or re-certification as Certified Lay Servants are  invited to attend. You can only complete one class on 2/8/20 & 2/15/20.
• All classes will be taught in Tongan and course materials will be provided in Tongan language.
• BASIC Class in Tongan: This course is foundational for all Lay Servant Ministries courses. Participants are encouraged to discover their personal spiritual gifts and to consider the importance of exercising servant leadership, developing future leaders, remaining rooted in consistent spiritual practices, and being part of a group that encourages members in their discipleship.
• Advanced Class – Lead in Evangelism: This course leads participants to learn from John Wesley how to practice relational evangelism. They will discover that evangelism involves not only sharing our faith with others but also welcoming people into a community where they can grow in faith.
• Advanced Class – Called to Preach:  Called to Preach is designed for those who have not completed formal preaching training, and for others who are called upon to preach in a pastor’s absence. Called to Preach is the required preaching course in the lay speaker track of study.
• Advanced Class – Leading Prayer: Praying in public can be daunting, but prayer is something one learns. This course on praying in public will help the participant grow in confidence and skill in public prayer and enrich their personal prayer life.
• Class instructors include Rev. Dr. Kalesita Tu’ifua, Dr. Sione Mafoa’aeata, Rev. Lynette Fuka, Pastor Josephine Liava’a, and Pastor Langi Lolohea.
