Cal-Pac UMVIM Rebuilds Home in Taylor, Texas

news-graphicBack in September and October of 2016, a Cal-Pac UMVIM team led by Jennifer Demaree participated in a rebuild of a house destroyed by a tornado in the Memorial Day flooding in 2015 in Taylor, Texas.

4The project went from an incomplete subfloor to reframing, sheeting and roofing the structure in a week, with additional work done by a team member who stayed in Texas for another event a week later. The Long Term Recovery Group (LTRG) has very limited funds so our help was deeply appreciated by homeowner and LTRG.

The experienced team focused on one site although some additional community activity occurred at the thrift store and fund raising occurred as well.
