Downey UMC’s 160 Years of Worshipping

news“Celebrating our past, envisioning our future” is the theme for a special homecoming celebration at Downey United Methodist Church in September.

We have much to celebrate as we remember 160 years as a worshipping community (the oldest in the city of Downey). But, we are not just resting on our rich history. We have a dream for the future of our congregation.

Come and be a part of this weekend celebration. On Friday, September 5, we are hosting a reception in the Fellowship Hall from 7-10 p.m. There will be food, music, games, historical displays, and much more. Then, on Sunday, September 7, we will be having a special service of worship beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed immediately by our “Frontier Fiesta”. There will be games, lots of activities for the kids, food, prizes, music, and much, much more.

This will be a grand celebration of our rich past and our hopeful future. Come and be a part of the excitement. Everything is free and all are welcome.
