Philippines Task Force Joins April 8 Global Day of Action

As part of the Global Day of Action, the Cal-Pac Taskforce Philippines is calling for a 24 hour fast on April 8, 2016 in solidarity with the farmers and our United Methodist sisters and brothers who continue live out their faith on the front lines of justice in the Philippines.

The Global Day of Action comes as farmers and Lumad (Indigenous People of Mindanao) were killed in Kidapawan, Mindanao, Philippines by police who opened fire on a protest demanding assistance from the government. Protestors are now in sanctuary at Spottswood Methodist Mission Center while police have surrounded the building.

The Cal-Pac Philippines Task Force further donating any money that would have been spent on food on April 8, 2016 to help buy rice for the farmers in Kidapawan, Philippines as well as to leave messages of prayer and encouragement to them via this Facebook event page.
