Call to Prayer: Democratic Republic of the Congo

The California-Pacific Conference is called to prayer for the Democratic Republic of the Congo where storms have destroyed homes, schools, and health facilities in the cities of Kananga and Lodja.

Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño has conveyed prayers of encouragement to Bishop David K. Yemba of the Central Congo Episcopal Area who was in Nashville, TN for a board meeting of the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry when emergency news of the destruction arrived.

Bishop Yemba will soon be en route to Kinshasha from which he will travel to the affected cities where local churches are doing their best to provide assistance with limited resources.
