The California-Pacific Conference has begun to receive reports of a suspicious email activity that impersonates “Bishop Grant J. Hagiya.”

Please note that official email addresses from the California-Pacific Conference are @calpacumc.org addresses.

It is possible that impersonation emails may continue using other names of highly visible persons.

What to do:

• Always verify the email address – Do not rely on the name that is displayed in the “from.”  Is it from an @calpacumc.org address?
• Do not fulfill requests for personal information or to make purchases on someone’s behalf – Chances are that this is a fraudulent request
• Check if unsure – Contact the Episcopal Office, Margaret Irwin (mirwin@calpacumc.org), Senior Executive Assistant to Bishop Grant J. Hagiya
• Report suspicious activity – Contact the Cal-Pac Office of Communications, James J. Kang (jkang@calpacumc.org), Director of Communications and Innovation
