Cheap grace is the grace we bestow on ourselves. Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, Communion without confession…. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate.”–Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Developing as a Disciple and helping to Develop Disciples takes effort and disciplines. These disciplines help form us into the image God has for us as exemplified in the person of the incarnate Christ. Discipleship is a born out of building right relationship with God, through Christ to one another. Join us in the life giving experience of identifying and applying intentional Christ centered disciplines that transform lives by helping each of us become deeper “Disciples” of Jesus Christ.

All those seeking certification as a Certified Lay Minister who need the Developing Disciples class are invited to participate, as well as all those who are currently Certified Lay Servants. This course qualifies as a Lay Servant Ministries Advanced class and as a prerequisite for Certified Lay Minister status. For more about Certified Lay Ministry, visit the CLM web page at www.calpacumc.org/clm.
