This event is for Youth and Young Adults (middle school, high school, college+ age group) and is sponsored by the Cal-Pac Urban Camp & Retreat Ministry Task Force in partnership with PIYYA, Spanglish, Christmas Institute, Korean Ministries, and the Camp & Retreat Ministry Council.

Theme: “Living the Dream”

At this camp, besides having a whole lot of fun and making new friends, we are going to engage Dr. King’s famous I Have A Dream speech and connect with its implications & powerful ideas. We’ll talk about social justice & equality, non-violent protests, his everlasting & uplifting faith, and how to continue the Dream!

This is a multicultural camp and leadership development retreat that we hope will reflect the salad bowl of our Southern California community. Urban Kids Camp Ministries is partnering with Pacific Islander Youth & Young Adults (PIYYA), Hispanic/Latino Ministries (Spanglish), Filipino American Youth (Christmas Institute), Korean/KA Youth, the Camp & Retreat Ministry Council, and anyone else who wants to “Live the Dream” with us!

Campers should come prepared for cold weather or rain, including outerwear and warm bedding.

Amenities include:

  • Mountain Sledding
  • Paintball
  • Wall Climbing
  • Laser Tag
  • Zip Line

Parents should read for COVID-19 protocols:

  • Read the complete protocol at https://angelescrest.com/health-update/.
  • Any symptoms that could be indicative of Covid-19, whether of a camper or family member, must have been resolved for at least 7 days for the camper to be admitted that week.
  • Temperatures will be taken upon arrival. Screening questions to identify risk of Covid-19 will be asked of campers and their accompanying adult at the doors, prior to registration; responses that require further assessment will be referred to the nurse before entering the community.
  • Continued enforcement of long-standing policy that any camper with a fever, or any other symptoms of communicable disease, will be isolated for care and rest until they can be picked up by a family member.
  • Guests will be divided into small groups and will enjoy free time and recreation activities in these small groups.
  • Handwashing/Sanitizing Stations will be set up around camp and required use before entering a building. We will have proper handwashing procedures posted.
  • All guests are asked to bring a personal face covering with them to camp and they should be used when requested by camp staff or Urban Kids Camp volunteers.
