Resources: LA Fire Survivors

Below are some external resources that may be helpful for those affected by the fires in Los Angeles:

 

      • Red Cross Disaster Distress: Call or text 1-800-985-5990

      • For those affected by the fires last month, the sign-up window for Disaster CalFresh (D-CalFresh) is February 13-19, which will allow for food benefits of up to $585 for individuals or $1,950 for families.  https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/calfresh/disaster-calfresh
      • List of CA psychotherapists who are ready and willing to offer pro-bono/reduced-fee services to survivors. Please visit the website below and click on “Wildfire Crisis Resources”: https://mind11.org/

      • Wespath has provided a document that has some helpful information for plan participants and resources applicable to anyone impacted by the wind and fires. DOWNLOAD NOW >>
    • Therapy UnScripted has opened up 100 client slots for victims of the fires. These slots are $39-$50 on a pay-what-you-can basis via telehealth. They have immediate availability and we will offer this service for as long as needed. They are an affirming site and welcome all individuals. To get started, contact executive director Michael Anthony Nalepa at StrengthBasedTherapy@gmail.com. He will match the person with a therapist who can best fit their needs. Please mention the fires specifically for this discounted rate.

In partnership with FEMA, two (2) Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC)s are open as of 01/14/25:

 

 

Two additional FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers will open on Wednesday, 1/15/25:

 

 

Hours of operation for both locations will be 9:00AM to 8:00PM.
