Bishop Hagiya’s Announcement on Appointment to First UMC of San Diego

We are pleased to announce that Resident Bishop Grant J. Hagiya has appointed the Rev. Trudy D. Robinson as the new Lead Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of San Diego. The appointment will begin January 1, 2020.

Rev. Robinson is currently serving the Littleton United Methodist Church, a 1,200 member church near Denver, Colorado, where she has been the Lead Pastor since 2012. A member of the Mountain Sky Annual Conference, Rev. Robinson also served as Lead Pastor of the Cheyenne United Methodist Church from 2005-2012 which is one the largest United Methodist local churches (900+ members) in the state of Wyoming.

Rev. Robinson has served connectionally in many capacities including as the Chair of the Vision, Mission and Ministry Team of the legacy Rocky Mountain Conference.  And, she was a Contributing author in GBHEM’s book entitled Breaking Through the Stained Glass Ceiling: Women Pastoring Large Churches (2013).

Rev. Robinson earned her Master of Divinity with Distinction from Iliff School of Theology (CO) and her Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Fullerton (CA).  Though currently a member of the Mountain Sky Annual Conference, Rev. Robinson was born in Covina, California where she and her family attended the Covina United Methodist Church.

We are thankful her call has led her back to the California-Pacific Conference and give thanks to God for her ministry in our midst.
