PIYYA Brings in the New 2017-2018 School Year Together

The Pacific Islander Youth & Young Adults (PIYYA) hosted a Back to School Bash with Rev. Alena Uhamaka from Monrovia UMC and Rev. Monalisa Lolohea, who provided the use of Trinity UMC’s gymnasium.

A group of 40 youth and young adults attended the event to worship with Rev. Alena Uhamaka and Retired Rev. Sivi Finau, discuss goals for the 2017-2017 school year, and donate school supplies for Lincoln Elementary School. Participants also had enjoyed playing in a volleyball tournament, sharing a meal and fellowship with each other.

The event concluded with “Opening the Floor” for each participant to share their faith and suggestions or recommendations on other gatherings they’d like from PIYYA as a committee.

PIYYA thanks all the churches for donating over 100 school supplies for this event, we give all glory to God!
