Racial Resilience: Antiracism as Spiritual Praxis (Beloved Compassion Network)

Do you find it difficult or exhausting to have conversations where race or identity are being discussed? Are you confused or frustrated by the reemergence of religiously motivated racial resentment?

Please join us for this 2-hour introductory workshop “Racial Resilience: Antiracism as Spiritual Praxis” on Saturday, August 6, 2022, 10 a.m. – Noon PDT. This free event will demonstrate how compassion can be cultivated as the heartfelt inspiration and the sustainable motivation for confronting bias and working for racial justice and equity.

A 7-week interactive virtual series on will also be taking place on Wednesdays, September 7-21 & October 5-26, 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. PDT.

Dr. Seth Schoen and Rev. Dr. Christopher Carter will help us get grounded in sociological and critical race theory themes to gain a better understanding of how race and racism impact our everyday lives, particularly for those who identify as Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC). We’ll also take time to compassionately reflect on our own experiences with race and identity and deeply listen to the experiences of others.
