Submitted by Greg Fellers and the Disaster Response Task Force/UMVIM
The Disaster Response Task Force, United Methodist Volunteers in Mission, and Hope Crisis Response Network (HCRN) are asking for volunteer teams to help with rebuilding in Altadena. HCRN will be ready to receive teams starting this summer, and is scheduling through the end of 2026.
Teams of up to 20 should be at least 16 years of age or older, and able to work approximately 6 hours per day. Teams will be housed locally for the week. Teams will be responsible for meal planning and preparation at the kitchen on site. HCRN will provide skilled supervision at the constructions sites and all materials needed. All the necessary tools will be provided. Opportunities are available for volunteers of all skill levels. The cost per team is $450 for the week.
Those volunteering will be benefitting the community of Altadena, particularly those who do not have the resources to rebuild their homes themselves. For more information on requirements and the process to apply, please see this volunteer packet.
