Over $11,600, and counting, in donations was received by St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of San Bernardino this past week.

The donations have become more than 1,000 gift cards for the families of the victims of the San Bernardino shooting.

Donations came from several churches, individuals, and companies, including a company from Los Angeles that donated its “blue jeans fund” ($1 collected for every person who wears jeans to work) after hearing about the effort on the radio.

The gift cards, as well as bibles with messages of encouragement inside, and a copy of Rev. Adam Hamilton’s book, “Why,” will be given to the families through the San Bernardino Children’s Fund.
