Bishop Escobedo-Frank’s Letter on Special Called Session

Dear Clergy and Lay Members of The California-Pacific Annual Conference,

In accordance with our standing rules and ¶603.5 of the Book of Discipline, I hereby call for a Special Called Session of The California-Pacific Annual Conference on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM PST. The special session will be conducted via electronic conferencing using Zoom.

The purpose of this Special Called Session is twofold:

  1. To review and approve the conference budget as part of a comprehensive spending plan for 2024, and
  2. To vote on The California-Pacific Annual Conference Board of Trustees’ recommendations for churches who have completed the process of disaffiliation from The United Methodist Church through the authorized process stipulated by the Trustees and outlined in BOD  ¶2553.

Thank you for your prompt attention and response to this important matter. I continue in prayer for each of you and for our conference. More information including registration will be forthcoming.

Grace y paz,

Bishop Dottie Escobedo-Frank
