Campers explore the elements at Wrightwood

Over Presidents’ Day weekend, Camp Wrightwood buzzed with the energy of more than 100 campers, staff, and volunteers, all coming together for an unforgettable winter retreat. From kindergarteners to high school seniors, campers explored faith through the elements of earth, light, and air while making memories that will last a lifetime.

The weekend was packed with adventure in God’s creation. Camp kicked off on Saturday afternoon, and by Saturday evening, elementary campers were having a dance party with face paint and glow sticks while junior and senior high campers competed in minute-to-win-it-style games in teams.

On Sunday morning, the elementary campers hiked to an outdoor worship service and even played in the snow. That afternoon, junior and senior high campers raced across camp in The Great Light Treasure Hunt, solving light-themed team challenges to unlock a treasure chest.

Meanwhile, elementary campers journeyed through the labyrinth, danced in the outdoor cabin, painted rocks, and played games in the dining hall. In between, everyone enjoyed friendly matches of basketball, gaga ball, and other camp favorites.

The fun didn’t stop when the sun went down. High school campers capped off Sunday night with a hilarious round of Family Feud based on their answers earlier in the weekend. Elementary campers completed a “cardboard kids” craft, decorating trees based on the seven days in the creation story they learned throughout the weekend.

As camp wrapped up, one camper could be heard saying, “If you think about it, God is actually a really good artist.”And what better place to experience that artistry than surrounded by towering trees and a sky full of stars?

Don’t let the fun stop here—summer camp will be here soon! Whether you loved winter camp or are ready for your first adventure, this summer promises even more games, friendships, and faith-filled moments at all three Cal-Pac camps.
