The CalPac Immigration Strategy Group is seeking help to supply feminine sanitary pads and supplies to women and girls seeking asylum in local shelters and family shelters in Tijuana. You can contribute in the following ways:
- Create (sew) reusable cloth sanitary pads. We have permission to use a pattern for the reusable sanitary pads, that can be found at www.girlsforgirlsproject.org. Once completed, please send or deliver the reusable sanitary pads to University UMC in Irvine, CA 92612. The office hours are from Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- In addition to the reusable sanitary pads, a feminine hygiene kit will be prepared at University UMC in a gallon zip lock bag. The kit will contain the following items: Reusable sanitary pads, (2) 1oz bottles of hand sanitizer, (2) 1oz bottles of liquid soap, a pack of flushable wipes, (2) quart zip-lock bags, a mesh laundry bag, and 6 laundry detergent sheets. Please note that no tampons should be included in the kit.
- You can also click here to make a donation and help provide these essential products to those in need. Once you get to the Toilet Kit Ministry site, make sure you specify your donation for Feminine Products.
The CalPac Immigration Strategy Group will identify shelters that are in need of feminine hygiene kits and arrange for their distribution. Your contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of these women and girls.
