我是有足夠的理由相信,所謂的摩登時代經已結束。今天,種種跡象顯示我們正身處於一個過渡時期,就是一些事情將要出現,一些事情又正正痛苦地誕生。彷彿有些東西破碎了,腐壞了,讓人筋疲力盡 — 與此同時,其他的事情卻仍然模糊不清,從瓦礫之中緩緩冒起。」— 瓦茨拉夫·哈維爾 捷克共和國前總統瓦茨拉夫·哈維爾的詩詞中的節錄片段,正正展示著現在於衛理公會當中發生的事情。我們正經歷著置身於一個錯位,迷失和失聯的時期。教會的每個層面都感受到這種焦慮,惟在我的靈裡,我是深深覺得上帝正在當中攪動著我們。就當我正在書寫這篇文章時,一些事情正在浮現中,聖靈也在吹送上清新的涼風。上帝賜下一個謎團給我們,但我卻希望我們所有人,平信徒,神職人員和教會可以一起協助迎接將會出現的新突破。 這正是我需要我們加州太平洋年議會各地區教會花上時間去探索各自堂會、鄰舍和社區需要的異象的原因。在「我看見一個新教會」的願景前提之下,你的堂會在社區中會有怎樣的形象呢?這正是我們參與上帝為我們衛理公會領來新風向的機會。 以下是一些為回應「我看見一個新教會」而需要實際考量的問題: 你們堂會此刻的使命與呼召的宗旨是甚麼? 堂會鄰近並周邊社區的需要是甚麼? 你們的堂會怎樣成全「領人作主門徒使世界得轉化」的目標? 怎樣的宣教信息能夠連繫到社區中的非信徒? 上帝呼召你們成為怎樣的教會? 這裡提出的只是部分回應「我看見一個新教會」的問題,回應此等問題與我們反思教會的新現象吻合。這能夠讓我們在無論遇上任何障礙,也能要參與聖靈新風將有的工作。 我認為這是每所教會當中非常有創意,充滿活力和引人注目的任務。透過迎接這個願景,我們可能就是正在重塑我們教會的核心,並為未來新的事工的出現奠定基礎。 當然,有好些教會經已擬訂強而有力的相關願景,我也欣賞他們已作的功夫,若是如此,就不用再重新擬訂遠象,就把最新訂好的,並那相關於我們目正前面對的狀況的部分提交出來就可以了。 如往常一樣,我與我們年議會上下的同工會在這任務上全然提供協助,如有任何關乎建立新教會的部分需要釐清,或是需要相關資料,歡迎與我聯絡。 我會繼續在禱告中不斷記念你們,一同辨識上帝將如何帶領我們的前路。 成為希望, Grant J.
