United Women in Faith: FLOURISH! Growing Together in Faith, Hope and Love in Action
Our upcoming event is the return of the UWFaith Luncheon at Annual Conference! This midyear opportunity for fellowship and catching up has been absent for a few years, and we are looking forward to this occasion to greet each other in Burbank on June 15.
We are elated to have this opportunity to gather again in fellowship as we affirm the multiple ways that our local organizations, Districts and Conference have been living our UWFaith PURPOSE. We are a sisterhood of Christ in creative, supportive fellowship, who transform our faith, hope, and love into action!
Please join us as President Jackie Campbell and VP Kara Mark affirm who we are and what we’ve done as United Women in Faith! We had fun with women who invited young women and newcomers to the Mid-Winter event. We’re counting on you to do that again for this luncheon on June 15 at Annual Conference!
So how do we register to be part of this celebration?
If you are a voting member of Annual Conference, select the UWFaith Luncheon meal option as part of your registration on Formstack.
To get tickets, you can register as a guest of the conference on Formstack, or you can email Jennifer Gaylord at jgaylord@calpacumc.org with your contact information & number of tickets requested. You will get a statement to pay online at www.calpacumc.org/payment or you can mail a check to Jennifer Gaylord at the conference office, 110 S. Euclid Ave., Pasadena, CA 91101.
Guest Parking in the hotel parking lot is $6.72/hour or $26.88 /day. There is also airport parking in Lot C across the street. The hourly rate might be higher although the full day rate is lower.
Please consider inviting women from your local organization to join the UWFaith gathering for lunch at Annual Conference on June 15! It will be a wonderful celebration of our Sisterhood of Grace!

Are you ready… for the ultimate adventure of a lifetime?! Join women of all ages during this three day retreat as we study The Kin-dom Is Among you: Drawing Closer to God and One Another.
We have chosen Cal State Long Beach as the location for this year’s Mission u. As an institution, CSULB is open and affirming to all people, including our LGBTQ+ siblings. The campus is beautiful and has state-of-the-art classrooms and meeting spaces. They offer a wide-ranging menu in the dining hall and the dorm buildings have lots of common areas, including a fully-equipped kitchen for a lovely cup of tea and conversation before heading off to bed. Mission u is not glamorous or posh by any stretch of the imagination. Yes, you will be sleeping in a twin bed in a dorm room. Yes, your normal, cozy home routine will be disrupted, but we all know that it is only when we are disrupted or inconvenienced that we can grow. This is a perfect time to (re)connect with God and your sisters in the faith. It is a time to feel what it’s like to live in the kin-dom.
What would make Mission u even better? YOU! And if you were there last year, now is your chance to bring someone with you! This year we are offering a $15 discount to anyone who brings someone who is new to Mission u. Now is the time to start planting those seeds in the hearts of your friends. You don’t have to be in UWF or even be a Methodist to go to Mission u, so cast your nets wide! Think of the young women and girls in your life. We have excellent teachers and programing for all age groups. The Co-Deans Barbara Miller and Theresa Ellis are so very excited about this coming year’s Mission u! We hope you are getting excited, too!
More information will follow, but if you have questions, please reach out to ellis.theresa@gmail.com. Valerie “Lani” Hungalu shared with us at our Annual Meeting in October. She said, “Be willing to be transformed for the transformation of the world.” Mission u is our opportunity to be transformed, we just have to be willing. Let us heed the exhortation in Hebrews and keep meeting together. It is in the coming together that we continue to be transformed.
