We, the California-Pacific Annual Conference, being faithful to our call by Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior to bring the good news of the Gospel to each and all in our world, are committed to broaden our capacity to witness to the growing Hispanic’s population at this time in our history and to do so by (1) identifying and equipping transformational accountable leaders, (2) to grow healthy Hispanic churches and ministries, and (3) to broaden our connectional life, as we make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

The Orders Executive Committee (Comite Ejecutivo Pastoral Ordenado)
Nota: Existen dos grupos en Ingles que vienen teniendo su “Table of Grace” desde hace más de un año.
“Orders” es el comité conferencial que apoya y vela por la salud espiritual y otros aspectos de todos los pastores de la conferencia.

Offering practical guidelines for avoiding common pitfalls of public prayer. Prayer is something we learn; it is something that can be taught. For many, however, the only teaching about prayer they ever receive is modeled in Sunday worship.
This course may challenge some of your assumptions, test some of your preconceived ideas, stretch your thinking, and enrich your prayer life. It will, at the very least, present you with an opportunity to grow in the discipline of leading public prayer.
The instructor is Rev. Martin Finau, the pastor at Temple City First UMC in the East District.
- Attendance is required at all sessions for credit. All those seeking certification as a Certified Lay Servant (CLS) are invited to attend. The Basic Class and one Advanced Class is required to successfully apply for CLS status within 3 years. For more information about Lay Servant Ministries, click here.
- Provide your own books: All participants will need a copy Shaping the Prayers of the People: The Art of Intercession by Samuel Wells and Abigail Kocher (Amazon, Cokesbury)
- Technical requirements: To participate in Zoom meetings, participants must have a reliable Internet connection, and a laptop, tablet, or smartphone device that can download and install the Zoom app. A web or phone camera and a microphone are highly recommended, although some users may call in via phone if a mic is not available.

Cal-Pac Camps is a Christ-centered organization that focuses on the spiritual development of our campers. We follow three simple rules of Methodist living: Do Good, Reduce Harm, and Love God. We embody Christian community through worship, small groups, keynote speakers, prayer stations, and traditional camp fun!
It is nearly impossible to not make a new friend at camp. The lifelong bonds forged around a campfire are what core memories are made of. All of our campers and staff come from rich and diverse backgrounds allowing for shared experiences to shape our identities. (“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11)
All three of our camps offer a variety of games and activities for our campers to enjoy while they are here. Our leadership teams work hard planning group bonding games, special interest groups, night activities, and of course campfire shenanigans! Other features include ropes courses, gaga pits, arts and crafts, and swimming!

“Cheap grace is the grace we bestow on ourselves. Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, Communion without confession…. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate.”–Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Developing as a Disciple and helping to Develop Disciples takes effort and disciplines. These disciplines help form us into the image God has for us as exemplified in the person of the incarnate Christ. This camp is for Youth and Young Adults (ages 14-26).
Spanglish 2022 is taking place on July 8-10, 2022, at Angeles Crest Camp in Palmdale, CA.
This year’s theme “God is our refuge y nuestra fortaleza” is based on Psalm 91:2.
What is UMC Spanglish’s Vision?
Under the leadership of a team that involves faithful servants of God that are laity, clergy, young people, and key UMC Staff. The God vision is to become a model that can be duplicated and easily modified throughout the UMC connection with the purpose of creating mature disciples of Christ that will share Jesus with the world!
What makes UMC Spanglish unique?
Spanglish is an ongoing new bilingual/bicultural youth and young adults’ ministry (ages 14-26) that has served effectively for the past four years by using an intentional mentorship model through the Spanglish Design Team. The Team provides leadership and spiritual growth opportunities for our young people to receive hands-on training, and monthly meetings as we prayerfully put together the Spanglish event, and other ongoing discipleship and evangelical events throughout the connection targeting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation Hispanic/Latino young people from all over our UMC connection.
We call on all members of the UM Connection to join us in prayer for our Hispanic/Latino youth and young adults and also for the 2022 Spanglish camp.
