A Conversation with Adam Manasra, a Young Adult community organizer from Wadi Foquin in the West Bank
Learn firsthand about life for Palestinians under the Israeli occupation and support the brave efforts of this village
Meet a remarkable young man and hear his testimony of life under Israel’s 57-year-long military occupation. Learn how his village, like so many others across Palestine, is being slowly and cruelly erased, and discover what he and his community are doing to resist.
Adam Manasra organizes a young adult leadership team in the West Bank village of Wadi Foquin, making online presentations to tell the world the reality of their life under military occupation. At 25 years of age, he provides a valuable perspective from this younger generation of Palestinians.
Adam has been itinerating in the United States to amplify a letter from members of Congress to the State Department, calling for “an immediate halt to all demolitions and property seizures in Wadi Foquin.” That letter was the result of the advocacy work of Friends of Wadi Foquin in recent years.
Since the time that letter was written, war has erupted, resulting in the genocidal assault on Gaza that the world is witnessing with horror. Less noticed has been the terrifying escalation of violence against Palestinians across the West Bank.
Adam’s visits across the US are also raising funds for a new community development project in the village to build a Guest House. As a trained engineer, Adam is the designer of the Guest House and will oversee the construction. A creative use of Wadi Foquin’s land, this project is also an expression of resistance to Israel’s ongoing land confiscation.
