With the theme “Ending Spiritual & Physical Hunger: Flourish!” the 40th Annual Session of the California-Pacific Conference will be held June 12-15, PDT/HST, in Burbank, CA at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport.

A late fee of $50 will be charged for registrations on or after Friday, May 17, 2024.The last day to register online is Saturday, June 8, 2024. 

The 2024 Annual Conference will be held at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport.

Reservations for hotel rooms can be made at this link or by calling 818-843-6000 and mentioning the Cal-Pac UMC group. The deadline to reserve is May 17, 2024 at 5pm.

Key Information:

  • Accessible rooms are available; contact the hotel directly at 818-843-6000 and mention the Cal-Pac UMC group to reserve.
  • Two on-site restaurants are available, and a list of nearby restaurants within walking distance will be provided soon. Special meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner can be purchased during conference registration, all other meals are on your own.
  • There is a complimentary airport shuttle to and from the Burbank airport.
  • On-site parking rates: Hourly: $6.72, Daily: $26.88 ($21/day for hotel guests), Weekly: $188.16. An Electric Car Charging Station is also available.
  • Pets are welcome with a non-refundable fee of $100 per stay; maximum pet weight is 25lbs, and a maximum of 2 pets per room are allowed.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Lay equalization is the process by which the conference balances the number of voting lay persons with the number of clergy members (with vote). The process is explained in Conference Rules IV.A (2023 Journal Section I). Calculations are based on local church membership as of December 31, 2022 as reported in Table 1, line 4 and clergy membership as of February 1, 2024.

  • Rules submissions were due by March 15, 2024
  • Reports, Recommendations, Resolutions, and Petitions were due by April 1, 2024

  • Submissions for the District Conferences are due May 3.
  • Submissions for the Annual Conference are due June 3.
    • Submissions from Presenters:
      • Media from presenters will be shown before, during, or after the presenter, per submitted requests. We encourage all submissions to incorporate the theme for message consistency.
    • Submissions from Organizations
      • Slides or short videos from invited participants and conference-related organizations will be shown at the time and discretion of the Media Team. These may be before or after a Session or during breaks. We encourage all submissions to incorporate the theme for message consistency. Slides will be reviewed for consistency with the mission and ministry of the California-Pacific Conference, and this service is provided as a courtesy by the Media Team and Conference Secretary.
