The Orientation event is open to all adults interested in deepening their understanding of our Wesleyan traditions and denominational structure; who are seeking information to build confidence in their current local leadership and service; or who are ready to pursue Certification as a Lay Minister!

The CLM Orientation is intended to provide both an overview of important theological and practical foundations for ministry in the United Methodist Church and tradition, as well as clarifying information about the Certified Lay Ministry program and process. With instructors from various levels of leadership of our Cal-Pac Conference, including Bishop Hagiya, the sessions will provide participants with both theoretical and practical knowledge grounded in the context of our Annual Conference.

Registration Cost: The Registration Fee is $85.00. The registration fee includes dinner Friday; continental breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Your confirmation will include options to pay by check or online (via credit card or ACH check).

Registration Deadline: Please register by Friday, August 30, 2019.

Schedule: The event will take place from 1 PM to 8:30 PM on Friday September 13, 2019 and 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday September 14, 2019. The schedule includes times for worship, five input sessions, reflection in small groups, Q&A, and meals.

About Certified Lay Ministry Training: The Certified Lay Ministry (CLM) Program provides information, resources, and training for laity who feel called to leadership in ministry both within and through the local church. Each year, the program provides an Orientation (late Summer) and two focused training sessions (Fall and Spring) called Cycles. The program takes two years to complete with four Cycles in total (A-D).
