Cal-Pac’s Deaconess Joy Prim Returns to Asia (Global Ministries)

It’s good to be back in Hong Kong. After two months of travel for my itineration followed by attending a research conference in Japan, its been good to be back in Hong Kong for a bit.

Finally, getting to settle back in and caught up on everything I’ve missed while I’ve been gone. Whether it be in the office, migrants who have returned home to be with their families for good, or the growth of my Godchildren, I’m reminded that it can feel good to be back in my community, exactly where God has called me to serve.

As I enter this next phase of saying Yes to God’s call to serve, I look forward to what lies ahead in this rapidly unfolding chapter. Through out today, I’ve been repeating in my head the children’s camp expression when singing “next verse, same as the first a little bit louder and little bit worse”.

Except it’s more like “Next chapter, same as the first, with less restrictions and lot more guest.” Yes, that’s right, tourist are now welcome in Hong Kong and we love to host guest. So stayed tuned for more information about upcoming opportunities to come visit in 2024.

So now with my feet back on the ground here in Hong Kong, jet lag gone (mostly), I’ll be sharing more details and stories soon. For now, let me share two things, the first the video introduction I used in my presentations entitled “The Journey”, and the second a story from one of the migrants we have recently supported in our office, below, originally published in our office newsletter “Migrant Focus”.
