Museum of Social Justice: Public Words Project Podcast Honoring Black History Month​

The Museum partnered with Anne-Marie Williams, founder of the Public Words Project, a podcast that celebrates storytelling in modern times in honor of Black History Month. On Saturday, February 23, 2019, Anne-Marie, Dr. Marla Parker, Cal State LA professor interviewed Rev. Gary Williams, Rev. Adrienne Zachary, and Keith Rice.

  • Rev. Gary Williams, Pastor of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Los Angeles; Gary spoke about his personal passion for prison re-entry ministry.
  • Adrienne Zachary, Pastor of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Compton; Adrienne spoke about the expungement clinics hosted by her church and other work she is doing in the community.
  • Keith Rice, Historian at the Tom and Ethel Bradley Center of California State University, Northridge.  Keith focused on his area of expertise, Black Power Movements in the 1960’s.
