UM Federal Credit Union Shares Vital Funds for Disaster Relief

The UM Federal Credit Union Board and Ted Ramirez, Business Development Officer, presented a check of $5,000 for Disaster Relief to be used by the Cal-Pac Disaster Response Task Force at the Task Force’s meeting at Ontario First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Judy Lewis, Conference Disaster Relief Coordinator, was present along with approximately a dozen Task Force members.

This is the second time the Task Force has been selected by the Credit Union making an investment which primarily benefits our local churches and membership. The investment draws on the philosophy that we pay less before a disaster by awareness and mitigation or much more after disaster strikes.

If you are not a member of the Credit Union, consider joining. Both Judy and Doug Lewis are members and have always received friendly and exceptional service.

When a disaster strikes, it affects all of us, and we are called to respond. These funds will be transferred directly to the Cal-Pac Disaster Response Fund utilized by the Task Force for response to natural disasters throughout the Cal-Pac Conference.

Over the past 2 1/2 years, the region has been rocked by multiple wildfires leaving thousands displaced with limited resources to replace what has been lost.
