2023 Accessibility/Accessible Program Grant (Disability)

Applications for seed money grant to improve accessibility/accessible program in a congregation or United Methodist entity now being accepted

Each year the California-Pacific Conference DisAbility Ministries Task Force offers grants to congregations and other United Methodist entities that want to improve the accessibility of their facilities and/or the inclusiveness of their programs.

This resource is important to congregations or other United Methodist entities who want to improve facility accessibility or initiate or improve a program which addresses the needs of people with disabilities. Church budgets often find that they cannot fund these improvements without help. To assist them in their fundraising efforts, Cal-Pac Disability Ministries offers financial support. Grants are offered as seed money to make the project possible.

In addition to this partial funding, Disability Ministries also offers help with the annually-required (per Book of Discipline) accessibility audit, consulting/problem solving, and preaching on Disability Awareness Sundays. Also, Disability Ministries collaborates with Cal-Pac Volunteers in Mission to offer assistance in facility improvements that increase accessibility.

Every congregation and United Methodist entity within our Conference should know about this funding.

This year, grant applications with all documentation will be due November 1. Instructions for filling out the application and contact information is included in the application. Please email disability@calpacumc.org with any questions or the completed application.
