Pastor’s Podcast: “Where Do We Go From Here, UMC?”

Want to know and understand better what is happening in the UMC right now? “Where Do We Go From Here, UMC?” is a great resource in the form of a podcast. It’s currently planned as six episodes, released weekly starting in mid-May.

It started from a request from some of Westwood United Methodist Church folks to know more about what’s happening in the denomination. It’s aimed at this congregation—people who are committed to inclusion and justice, and not totally plugged in to all the denominational dynamics. It’s more aimed toward giving a sense of connection and encouragement for moving on ahead, working from where we are.

There are also some discussion questions on the website: wheredowegoumc.com

Each podcast episode is an interview with a denominational leader. The first is with Bishop Bickerton, and the second with Randall Miller. (After that, it’ll be Lonnie Chafin helping us get a picture of what’s going on with talk of pensions and property, and then Bishop Karen about why LGBTQ+ inclusion matters and what we can do to be better at it.)

“Where Do We Go From Here, UMC?” is a weekly podcast featuring conversations between Rev. Molly Vetter and denominational leaders about the challenges ahead as we live toward a United Methodist Church that is fully inclusive of our LGBTQ+ siblings.

This podcast is produced by Westwood UMC, with partner support from other groups who are working for a more just and inclusive United Methodist Church.
